Designed on Purpose

Updated: Oct 25, 2025

Ephesians 2:10 NIV - "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

Over the years, I’ve met many people who believe they don’t have a purpose in life. They move through each day feeling lost — existing, but not truly living. I understand that feeling, because there was a time when I thought I had missed my purpose too. I didn’t understand who I was or what God wanted from me.

Then I realized something life-changing: I hadn’t truly given God my yes. I was waiting for direction without surrender.

The thing about God is — He is intentional. You are not here by accident. God didn’t form you and then try to figure out a reason for your existence. He formed you because He already had a purpose in mind. You were uniquely designed with every detail of your life — your background, your battles, even your mistakes — woven into His divine plan.

Looking back, I can see that even my wrong turns led me to where I am today. Nothing was wasted.

We live our lives like stories, turning one page at a time. And just when we think we know the plot, God introduces a new chapter — a turning point. Sometimes it doesn’t make sense because we can only see part of the story. But the Author already knows the ending.

Always remember this: When God wrote your story, He had only you in mind.

Reflection: Where in your life have you mistaken detours for destiny blockers?

Action Step: Take some time today to reflect on areas in your life where you hesitated to give God a full yes. Write down one or two things that God has been prompting you to do that you have delayed due to doubt, fear or uncertainty. Pray over it and surrender it back to God. Then take one step of obedience this week. Your purpose doesn't begin when everything is perfect - it begins when you surrender and give God your yes.

Prayer: Lord, help me to have courage and faith in the moments where I do not understand. Help me to walk boldly in the purpose You have for me. I thank you for choosing me and for reminding me that I was designed on purpose for a purpose. Lord, I am a willing vessel, to You I surrender my all and I give you my yes. In Jesus' name, Amen.
