The Great Commission Still Stands

Updated: Oct 25, 2025

Matthew 28:19-20 NIV - Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

When God first called me to ministry, I thought I could serve quietly in the background. That felt safe — I could still obey Him, but on my terms. I wanted to serve God and stay comfortable. But being a disciple isn’t about comfort — it’s about obedience.

When we model our lives after Christ, we choose surrender over safety and obedience over ease.

The Great Commission was not a suggestion; it was a command.

Every believer is called to be a disciple who makes disciples — not by words alone, but by the way we live, love, and lead others to Christ. Your life is your ministry platform. How you respond to people, how you serve, and how you love should all point others to Him.

Always remember this: It’s not enough to be a believer — God has commanded us to be disciples.

Reflection: Where is God sending you in this season — your workplace, your community, or your family?

Action Step: Think about something God has asked you to do that you’ve been hesitant or afraid to start. Pray for courage and boldness to step into it. Remember, obedience opens doors that comfort never will.

Prayer: Lord, give me boldness to share Your truth with love. Help me to overcome fear and walk in courage. Bring to remembrance every assignment I’ve delayed or ignored, and give me strength to complete it. Make me a true disciple who obeys Your call, no matter the cost. In Jesus' name, Amen.
