To the Person Who Hurt Me

I’ve replayed it a thousand times. What you said. What you did. What you didn’t do.
I waited for an apology that never came. I waited for accountability that never showed up.
And for a long time, I carried that weight like it was mine to hold.
But I’m learning something now…
Healing doesn’t require your permission.
I don’t need closure from you to move forward. I don’t need understanding from you to find peace.
I’m choosing to release what I’ve been holding onto—not because it didn’t matter, but because I do.
I forgive you. Not for you… but for me.
